Steering Committee

The Steering Committee is composed primarily of experts and supports strategic advisory functions and key decision-making processes.

Overview of the Steering Committee

The Steering Committee is composed of six private-sector members and three ex officio members. The ex officio members include the Minister of Economy and Finance, the Governor of the Bank of Korea, and the CEO of KIC—representing institutions that have entrusted assets to KIC exceeding a threshold defined by Presidential Decree.
Private-sector members are appointed by the President of the Republic of Korea upon the recommendation of the Private Member Nomination Committee, and serve a two-year term. The Chair of the Steering Committee is elected from among the private-sector members.

The Steering Committee also operates subcommittees, which are categorized into standing and ad hoc subcommittees. Standing subcommittees include the Investment Subcommittee, which deliberates on matters related to KIC’s asset management, and the Risk Management and Oversight Subcommittee, which reviews risk management practices related to asset operations and periodically monitors and supervises the corporation’s activities.
